World of warcraft, or WOW for short, has been developed 12 years ago by a company called Blizzard Entertainment and is called Warcraft. It is a adventure game and can be played on a single or multiple player. The game gradually gains popularity and they decided to add two more versions of Warcraft games later. World of Warcraft is currently the fourth game in this series. Statistics shows that on May 2006, World of Warcraft has over 6.5 millions subscribers paying $17 per month just to play the game. Punching this value into your calculator will reveal over 110 million dollars just on subscription alone! And this is just for one month, multiply that by 12 and your calculator will probably explode. World of Warcraft – How it Works The World of Warcraft game battles in a virtual environment referred to as the World of Azeroth. As the storyline is fantasy driven, as in any other fantasy gaming, you can expect lots of colorful characters and environment. I found that although colorful, the color of the whole screen is not in contrast between the character and the environment and it blends in itself. First of all, to play World of Warcraft, you have to choose a character representing yourself. The character varies from human to elf, from dwarf to trolls and many

more. Next, you have to choose what profession to take, whether it is a hunter or a paladin, a rogue or a shaman and much more. Once you have made your selection, you will be brought on to Level 1. There is a total of Level 60 and you have to battle all the way up, picking up armors and weapons along the way. Of course, there will be other characters appearing here and there, assigning you quests to add fun to the environment. And as in any other game, you will be faced with lots of enemies which you have to handle in order to move on. World of Warcraft – Gameplay World of Warcraft is ranked as the number one MMORPG game in the world due to the popularity of its game and also due to the two main gameplay that they features. No 1 is the Player vs Environment. The more a player climbs up on the Level system, he will come across more difficulties and will be met by game-generated enemies as well as other players who are against his race. No 2 is Player Vs Player. This is only applicable in some specific areas and specific levels. These are restricted to players form higher level or vice versa. For example, if you are playing at Level one to thirty, it could be restricted to people at these levels only and you are not allowed to higher levels than thirty.
