AIDS in Africa is a huge problem. Not only do a lot of people have, a lot of children are also born with it. People are relatively uneducated about how it is transmitted and now that people have AIDS, there are unsure of what to do about it. As a result of this, AIDS in Africa is a hot topic for philanthropists as they try to raise money and find volunteers to go down to Africa to serve different purposes.

If the subject of AIDS in Africa is something that you want to help with, there are several things you can do. First, you can donate money. Money is needed to help fund transportation costs, find volunteers, pay for medicine and treatment, and pay for educational materials. There are also people needed to work as counselors and to provide other means of support to families and people who have AIDS.

If you are thinking of helping out, a good first step is to donate some money. Before you give a charity or a foundation your money, though, it is a good idea to look into the credibility of them. Some charities claim to be something they are not and really they are just pocketing your money. Beware of bold claims and make sure you give you money to someone with a good reputation.

Another thing you need to remember is that you can still volunteer your time without going to Africa. Not everyone has the time and resources for that. You can volunteer your services and talents to a local group that is devoted to helping. Think about what you are good at. If you can write, volunteer to write marketing materials. If you are persuasive, get out there and help them raise money. There is a lot you can do. AIDS in Africa is a problem but with the help of others, it can be controlled.
