How AIDS Is Transmitted
Simply put, AIDS is transmitted by the exchange of fluids in the body, including sexual fluids such as sperm. Knowing this, it seems as if anyone could be in a situation where they could protect themselves from it. Well, people sometimes make poor decisions. Either that or they are simply uneducated about how AIDS is transmitted. That is why there is a need out there for people to volunteer and educate people.
Africa has been getting a lot of press lately about how the AIDS epidemic is pretty rampant. The problem is that people don’t have the education or the resources to understand what they need to do to prevent it. And unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are simply born with it because it was transmitted to the fetus because the mother was infected. There are people out there who volunteer their time and money for AIDS education and research in Africa, as well as the purchasing and distribution of supplies.

concerning AIDS. There is a wide body of misinformation out there and it is unfortunate for the people who have it. Not only are people needed to educate, but money and other resources could be donated to help the cause. AIDS is a problem that affects people from all different walks of life.
It is worthwhile for anyone who is sexually active to understand how AIDS is transmitted and it isn’t just the people who have unprotected sex who are at risk. As mentioned above, an unborn fetus could end up with AIDS. But if the situation is caught in time, drugs can be taken to prevent the unborn baby from getting AIDS from their mother. Health care workers who work with AIDS patients are also at risk for getting it because it can be exchanged through blood and saliva.
In order to completely protect yourself from AIDS, you need to understand how AIDS is transmitted. Learn as much as you can about it, especially if you are sexually active or work in health care. But just knowing how it is transmitted is only part of it. You need to make sure you apply what you know.
