Haemoroid - A real painful experience
By CY Tang>
I was at Rayong for my usual weekly business rounds and on this particular day, after surfing the net, I went to sleep at around 11pm. At 2am, there was this incredibly unbearable sensation of burning down at my butt that I cannot hold on to it anymore. What did I do wrong that cause this pain, I was wondering. And then it strucks me that I did had my bowel movement at 7pm this evening and had a terrible time to get out of it, you know what I mean.

Anyway, I had to drag myself out of bed with this pain and getting in the car to drive to the hospital is another nightmare! Now I know how much pain my wife suffers after delivery of our first son, Jason. She need a tube to sit on the front seat and I was chuckling to myself! Sorry dear. Now I know how hard it must be for you to bear the pain.

Well, getting back to the story, you can imagine the look of the nurse’s surprise when they saw a man walking surprisingly awkwardly to the counter to register. I tried to walk as normal as possible but just couldn’t. The nurse ask me what is wrong and I just told her that I have some pain. She ask where and I sheepishly said, my ass. Haha. Probably this is nothing new to her for she just proceeds to get my details and identification and ask me to sit down. No thanks, I told her, I’ll just stand instead, thank you.

A man later came and ushered me to a bedroom and ask me to lie down. I ask him if he is the doctor and he says no. Blood pressure check, he says. Then again the same famous question, what is the problem? Gawd! How many times do I have  to inform them that my ass is burning right now? Help! Anyway, I did not say that and just told him the truth. He just nodded his head and minutes later the doctor came. A young doctor guy, in fact and I was surprised. Maybe the experience doctors don’t work night shift, I suppose.

You guess it right! He ask me what happen to you and blah blah blah I explain for the third time what is happening to me. Meanwhile, he is getting a pair of glove and preparing himself. My gawd…..I

thought, I hope you are not going to touch my …..with that! Politely I told him not to touch anything, anything at all. He promised and ask me to turn over. Geez, this is so embarrassing. After inspecting, he told me blank in the face, “You have haemoroid”. I have what? Haemoroid! What the heck is that? My heart sinks. Is this a serious thing? The answer lighten me up immediately. It is a normal thing, happens to 9 out of 10 people (Really?) and all you need to do is go for an operation, get some pain killer, and they will just cut if off for you, just like that? What? He sounds so easy! I can’t imagine me sitting on a high chair, legs apart, bottom half covered with  a blanket and a group of people meddling my ass. Reminds me of my wife delivery (again!) in the delivery room. Hey, that’s what the situation is! It is the same as delivery, you know, wife screaming in pain and that sort of thing. OH MY GAWD!!! I’m outta here. Enough imagination and gave me the creeps.

Took some pain killer from the pharmacy with a strong advice from them to go to Bangkok and have it operate out. OK I will. (Later) Meanwhile, I am really outta here. Now, after searching the internet for more information, realized that it is best to cut it off after all. Although you can never know when it will happen again but it might be cancerous later, if not the unbearable pain experienced. For those new to Haemoroid, better take care of what you eat. I had a feeling that it is due to the stress at work, long distance drive (I drove a lot each week) and late night sleep (Internet). I used to take Physilium Husk mixed with green vegetable consisting of green apple, green apricot, cucumber, celery and green sour plum, whatever your called that, and it does a great deal of help flushing your big intestines undigested item out. Due to work stress, I stopped for 3 months and looks like I’d better continue eating it. Meanwhile, be careful of what you eat, take time of from work and sleep early. Health is our most important factor in our priority list.
