Mardi Gras Decorations
Mardi gras decorations are fabulous for a costume party or carnival themed event! Great for backyard barbeques in warm weather, or indoor festivities in the winter, there’s no better way to set the mood for fun. decorations are readily available year round, but there’s no better time to celebrate than during the season, which runs from the twelfth day of Christmas until Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday of the Catholic Calendar. In other parts of the world they also celebrate something similar. In some places it is called Fasching, such as Bavaria in Germany. Others celebrate their own version of Karnival. decorations only add to the images that one expects out of New Orleans. There are lots of streamers and beads everywhere and everything is so lush.
Mardi gras decorations can be as loud and ostentatious as your imagination allows. Banners and streamers can be purchased with captions and phrases on them, balloons in the well known gold, purple and green metallic can infest the room. Tablecloths and streamers
can match the décor, and fun and funky accent pieces can be a great part of the good time. Carnival in New Orleans is as wild as you can imagine. Parade floats with huge cartoonish heads and every type of person in costume and out are all reveling together.
If you’re throwing a themed party, decorating is only part of the preparation. Don’t forget the music; the music should be your first priority. Make sure you have the best selection of jazz to play all night. Better yet, if it’s in your budget and you can find suitable players, a live jazz band would be phenomenal for a party. Food should be rich and plentiful, but more so the drinks. No celebration is complete without an endless flow of spirits. If you’re truly inspired, you can put up street signs that say Bourbon Street and recreate some of the more famous aspects of New Orleans. A fortune teller might be a great addition, a real one if possible. Your guests will love the chance to sit and have their fortune read and it will add to the atmosphere of a wonderful party.
